A stretch of the A1(M) in North Yorkshire was closed last night (Sunday) after a two car crash.
Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway at 5.47pm following the collision.
It happened between J49 Dishforth and J48 Boroughbridge and two lanes were closed while the situation was ongoing.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service reported that all occupants of the cars were out before fire crews arrived.
Police, fire and ambulance crews helped to make the scene safe.
The incident caused two-mile long tailbacks. The motorway was fully reopened by 7.20pm
