A gang of youths attacked two men in a nature reserve, leaving them with injuries that needed hospital treatment.
A group of about 15 teenagers, all aged around 14 or 15, were involved in the incident at St Nicholas Fields off Rawdon Avenue in York.
It happened between 7.45pm and 8.15pm on Monday 1 July.
Two men were injured as a result of the assault and were taken by ambulance to York Hospital.
One suffered facial injuries. They were treated and discharged following treatment.
Police attended the incident and two 14-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
Both have been released under investigation.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
