TV antiques expert David Harper is bringing a stand-up comedy, family friendly history show to Pocklington Arts Centre.
Known for presenting shows such as Bargain Hunt, Flog It and Antiques Road Trip, David is also an artist, auctioneer and writer.
A Romp with The Georgians is at Pocklington Arts Centre on Wednesday 21 September at 7:30pm.
The show is based on his recently published book of the same name, and is a humorous and lighthearted look at life in Britain during the Georgian period.
The show will be packed with outrageous and dastardly historical stories our history teachers didn’t tell us – including strange Georgian pets, binge drinking, smugglers, fashion disasters, and how to sell your spouse in auction.
Pocklington Arts Centre manager David Parker said: “Many of you will recognise David Harper from his numerous prime time TV appearances.
“Now we’re giving you the chance to spend an evening with the popular presenter as he takes the audience on a family-friendly, and humorous journey back in time to the Georgian period.”
Tickets for A Romp with The Georgians are £16.50 and are available via the Pocklington Arts Centre website.
