Treasurer’s House is offering a brand new tour – which offers a new way to explore the historic house.
Tucked away behind the Minster, Treasurer’s House is one of York’s hidden gems.
The new tour, Turning Back Time, is a one-hour guided journey through the historic rooms that focuses on the lives and legends of some of the past residents of the house.

The new tour will delve into the past, and visitors will meet names you may have heard of, and some you probably haven’t.
Home to astronomers and politicians, generals, and gentry, divided and brought back together over the years, Treasurer’s House has passed through many hands.
Mr Frank Green created the house that we know today. In buying this and other properties in York he helped to preserve elements of York’s past for future generations.
Turning Back Time tours last around one hour and run every 15 minutes on Sundays 11am – 4pm (last tour departs 3pm). Free to National Trust members.
The weekly tour will run until the end of October.
Pre-booking is recommended or drop in on the day for availability.
