Friends have paid tribute to a Selby man who died after going missing on a hike in Snowdonia.
A search was launched after Daniel Adams, 26, went missing on Sunday (6 August) while on a hike after parking his car.
North Wales Police were joined by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation in the search.
In a post today (Tuesday) on Facebook the mountain rescue team said: “Sadly, just after midnight, the body of a young man was found on steep ground and recovery operations continued into Tuesday afternoon.”
This evening, North Wales Police said: “The body of the man who was found in the Carneddau area on Monday 7 August has now been formally identified as Daniel Adams.
“Daniel, 26, from the Selby area, was reported as missing yesterday following not returning from a hike in the Carneddau area.
“We continue to work with the coroner and Daniel’s family have been informed.”
The Carneddau are a group of mountains in Snowdonia, North Wales.
Inspector Mike Andrews said: “Our deepest condolences remain with Daniel’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“Thank you to partner agencies, volunteers and members of the public who assisted in our searches.”
‘The most genuine caring soul’

Daniel worked for PHD Marketing in Wakefield. His friends and colleagues paid tribute to him tonight.
A post on the company’s Facebook page said: “Everyone here at PHD Marketing is mourning the loss of our lovely Danny Adams.
“He joined us as an apprentice 18 months ago, after making a complete career change from the world of construction and became a true PHDer with care and concern for all his clients and colleagues.
“The entire team is absolutely devastated, and we will miss his big smile and loud laugh ringing out across the office.
“Hike those clouds in the sky, our friend.”
Emma Czirok, operations director at the firm, added: “Words like ‘devastated’ seem utterly inadequate. I can’t begin to fathom the overwhelming grief and pain Danny’s family must be feeling, they are constantly in all of our thoughts.
“While it might sound clichéd to say that no one ever had a bad word to say about someone, in his case, it’s the absolute truth. His passion, drive, and dedication were unparalleled and I’m immensely proud of everything he achieved over the last 18 months.
“He had the most genuine caring soul and a kindness that everyone should aspire to. Danny, you were such a good man, you were loved, and you will be missed by anyone who ever had the privilege of knowing you.”
