Train disruption continues – Passengers advised not to travel on Sunday
There are no trains running north of Newcastle on the East Coast Main Line today (Sunday).
Storm Arwen may have abated, but it is still causing major travel disruption.
Work is continuing to repair and reopen parts of the rail network following the high winds, rain and snow experienced over the last couple of days due to the storm.
The East Coast Main Line will remain closed today between Newcastle and Edinburgh. The advice remains – do not travel unless it is essential.
Meanwhile TransPennine Express customers travelling on affected lines between York, Newcastle, Leeds and Middlesbrough are advised not to travel.
Tickets are transferable.
For LNER customers, tickets dated Friday 26 November, Saturday 27 November or Sunday 28 November will be valid for travel between Monday 29 November and Wednesday 1 December. Customers are encouraged to travel as close to their original booked time as possible.
TransPennine Express customers can use your ticket from Friday 26 November and Saturday 27 November on alternative TransPennine Express services until the end of the day on Monday 29 November.
Customers of all services can also apply for a fee free refund via your original point of purchase.
