Who is the winner of this year’s best dressed trader at St Nicholas Fayre? Elementary, my dear Sonja – it’s Sherlock Holmes.
Every year the council hands out certificates to the traders who have best entered into the seasonal spirit of St Nick’s. Amanda and Adrian Forde – dressed in Holmes’ deerstalker and cape – from AA Gifts and Jewellery were judged best dressed by Cllr Sonja Crisp, the council’s leader on leisure.
Garth Cottage took the best decorated stall award, while Thomas Barratt took the most festive stall award.
“St Nicholas Fayre is an annual favourite with residents and visitors and this competition is our way of thanking those traders who go that extra mile to give the fayre its festive feel and help keep York firmly on the map of the best places to be at this time of year,” said Cllr Crisp.
The market runs until Sunday, December 1.
