A well-loved and tasty trader at York Designer Outlet has sadly shut up shop.
Yogi Bar Froyo has closed for good, after ten years of supplying the centre with topped frozen yogurt and other sweet treats.
The business shut on Sunday (25 January).
Yogi Bar Froyo shared the news on Instagram, saying: “After ten amazing years, we are sadly closing our doors.
“This journey has been filled with unforgettable memories, wonderful customers, and an amazing team that has supported us every step of the way.
“We are beyond grateful for each and every one of you who bought yogi’s, and shared in our passion. Though this chapter is ending, the love and connections we’ve built will last forever.”
The York business sold frozen yoghurt, smoothies, ice cream, and milkshakes.
The froyo flavours included their original natural flavour, as well as vanilla and strawberry.
They offered a wide range of toppings, from fruit, fudge, chocolate, gummy bears, and marshmallows.

Yogi Bar Froyo was first established in York at their city centre site on St Sampsons Square, which opened in December 2013.
The Designer Outlet Yogi Kiosk opened for business a year later, in December 2014.
Their city centre shop ran for almost three years, but the business ceased trading in September 2016, leaving only the Kiosk.
Paul Tyler, Centre Manager at York Designer Outlet, said this about the closure: “We can confirm that Yogi, a local family run business has made the decision to close after ten years at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York.
“We thank them for their contribution to the centre and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
“We’re always evolving our brand mix to offer exciting new experiences for our guests, and we look forward to sharing news of future arrivals at the centre soon.”
In April last year, Yogi York revealed that they were available on Deliveroo for home delivery from the Outlet.
The company was also recently granted planning approval for a change of use to three upper floor flats at 13 St Sampsons Square, in the city centre.
The decision was approved in March last year.
Alongside the sad news of the closure, comes good news for York Designer Outlet.
The centre celebrated record-breaking footfall for last year, with a 4% increase compared to 2023.
They’ve also had a positive start to 2025, with customer numbers up approximately 5% in January.
This year will see a few changes for the outlet, including a complete refurbishment of the BOSS store and an expansion of Wagamama.
Both are expected to be complete by March.
