The Tour de Tang Hall returns on Sunday (July 12).
The community led project encourages people to walk cycle, scoot, toddle or wheel their way around a 2.2 mile course in Tang Hall and Derwenthorpe. You can join in at any time from 12 until 5pm, and it’s all free.
There is a choice of five starting points, all of which are also activity hubs: Hull Road Park, Tang Hall Community Centre, St Nicholas Fields, Tang Hall Orchard, and the Derwenthorpe Super-sustainable Centre.
Winner of Best Community Project in the 2014 Community Pride Awards, Tour de Tang Hall returns bigger and better with extra activities all run by local organisations.
Chair of Tang Hall Community Centre Tina Funnell said the 2014 event was launched to mark the Tour de France.
There’s a prize draw for those who complete the route and participants can take a break along the way to join in activities at the hubs.
“It’s a perfect, relaxed community event for a summer Sunday,” said Tina
“Last year 300 people joined in, and we hope to see even more come along this year.”
