YORK RI RUFC, one of the North’s most diverse and inclusive rugby clubs, is set to launch its summer Touch Rugby training sessions from Thursday 13 May – and they’re free to join!
Touch is a fantastic introduction to rugby. Regardless of a person’s gender identity, ability or knowledge of the game, Touch Rugby enables everyone to get involved. Training sessions will cover the basics of the sport and build confidence in a contact-free, fun and friendly environment.
Home to mens, ladies, mixed ability and inclusive rugby union teams, the club pride themselves on their inclusive ethos and are aiming to attract new members from a range of backgrounds and abilities to the sport.
Andy McCarthy, Chair of York RI RUFC, said “Touch Rugby is a great sport to take advantage of long summer evenings. This format of rugby allows players with any level of experience to play socially, learn new skills and keep fit. If anyone has been thinking about giving rugby a go or getting back into the sport this is the perfect opportunity.”
Training sessions will take place through the summer on Thursday evenings from 19:30 at New Lane, YO24 4NX. Anyone interested in getting involved can contact the club via their Facebook page or by emailing [email protected]
