A York restaurant had to shut suddenly today.
Cresci Pizzeria has had to temporarily close due to flooding inside the restaurant.
The closure was announced this morning (Tuesday), and staff have confirmed it’s currently unknown when they’ll be able to re-open.
Named as one of the 11 best restaurants in York by The Times, the Piccadilly-based pizzeria is typically open seven days a week.
It is rated number three out of 735 restaurants in York by TripAdvisor and was also named among the best places to get pizza in the city by YorkMix.
Staff are currently working to clean up the flooding, which is believed to have been caused by a boiler issue.

A statement posted to Cresci’s Instagram page read: “Morning everyone. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be closed until further notice.
“We will keep you updated and let you know when we’re re-open.
“Grazie, The Cresci team.”
