Mental health is one of those things we just don’t talk about. But an event taking place in York on Thursday (February 6) aims to change that.
York Mind and the Leeds & York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are taking part in the first ever Time To Talk Day, which aims to inspire a million conversations about mental health.
Representatives from both York Mind and the trust will be encouraging people to our their hearts out at Coppergate Shopping Centre between 10am and 2pm.
People can show their support for good mental health by adding their name to the Cup o’Tea pledge wall, having a chat, finding out more about the mental health support services offered in York and taking home a Time To Talk conversation starter kit.
“We really want the people of York to get involved with Time To Talk Day as well and find out more about mental health,” said Holly Pollard of York Mind.
“We’d like to let people know that there is help available, sometimes from other sources than first thought, for anyone struggling to cope.
“Talking can be an important part of accepting and dealing with a mental health problem, whether it’s talking to a trained professional, joining a support group or speaking to someone you already know.”
