Ever wondered what the Mystery Plays site build might look like if you took a photo of it every minute for 3 weeks, sped it up to watch in under 2 minutes and added some epic music?
Wonder no more!
This time-lapse footage of the Mystery Plays stage construction, by York promotion specialists Fresh Label, shows the scale of the production.
The 1,400-seat theatre has three blocks of seating, complete with rain canopies, and a huge 56 x 80ft stage. And the backdrop’s not bad either – the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey.
Organisers have arranged to show the film as a trailer before movies at City Screen in York. The cinema is showing passion plays film The Gospel of Us starring Michael Sheen on Sunday, August 5 to coincide with the first weekend of York Mystery Plays 2012.
