There are a few changes afoot on York’s shopping streets.
We have news of three stores opening and one that has closed. So let’s start with the positives…
Opening 1: Nomination
Like Pandora which occupied this spot before it, Nomination sells jewellery. The first shop was opened by Paolo Gensini in Tuscany, Italy, in the 1980s.
Stocking earrings, necklaces, brooches and watches, its signature piece is the ‘composable bracelet’, where you choose the links yourself to make it unique.
The store is advertising for staff – if you’re interested email your details to [email protected].
Opening 2: Toymaster
![Fun for the young: Toymaster](https://yorkmix.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/york-toymaster-opening-soon-780x526.jpg)
For many years it housed the Early Learning Centre. Now it will be home to a new toy shop, Toymaster.
The store on Market Street has turned red to fit the toy chain’s branding and it will be stocked with famous names like Lego, Hot Wheels, Sylvanian Families and Fisher Price.
With the Disney Store next door, this could become parents’ one-stop Christmas corner.
Toymaster York is also hiring: see its Facebook page.
Opening 3: New Stories
![Books and more at New Stories](https://yorkmix.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/york-new-stories-opening-780x547.jpg)
Our third new opening is New Stories. Housed in what was once the CMD fashion shop on Feasegate, it will sell books, stationery, toys and gifts.
Like Nomination and Toymaster, New Stories is looking for staff – supervisors and both full and part-time sales assistants. Apply in store or email your CV to [email protected].
