Firefighters tackled a kitchen fire at a home in York early this morning
York firefighters responded to a call at 3.50am to the residential property off The Stonebow.
After discovering a fire in the kitchen, additional crews from Acomb and Huntington were sent to the scene.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The fire involved a pizza left in a microwave oven in a second floor kitchen.
“It resulted in fire, heat and smoke damage to food item, microwave and adjacent units.”
Firefighters in breathing apparatus put out the blaze using one hose reel jet. A ventilation fan cleared smoke from the property.
The cause is believed to be accidental.
