North Yorkshire Police has arrested three people from South Yorkshire on suspicion of possessing heroin with intent to supply after stopping a vehicle in York.
The blue VW Golf car was pulled over by officers from the Roads Policing Group on the A64 at Fulford at 5.20pm on Monday (16 September 2013) after noticing that the windscreen was cracked.
On speaking to the occupants of the car, the officers could smell what they believed to be cannabis so they carried out a search of the vehicle.
A large amount of uncut heroin was discovered.
The three people, two men aged 23 and 26, and a 22-year-old woman who are all from Sheffield, were arrested and the car was seized.
Following questioning in custody, the three were released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.
