Three people have been arrested after a man was racially abused on board a York bus.
The incident happened on the number 5 bus on Poppleton Road at about 9.15am last Tuesday (1 November).
Police describe it as “a racially-aggravated public order” offence which involved a “physical and verbal altercation”.
It involved three suspects – a man and two women.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended, and three people were arrested in connection with the incident.
“They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
Police are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, we are appealing for information about the full verbal exchange that occurred between those involved, and any physical altercation,” the spokesperson said.
