Could you help with the running of one of York’s most historic houses?
Treasurer’s House in York are hosting a drop-in session to recruit new volunteers.
The drop in session will take place on Wednesday 10 July from 10am to 11am at Treasurer’s House, where potential volunteers will get the chance to meet the team and find out more about the roles on offer.
Treasurer’s House is one of York’s hidden gems – located behind York Minster, it was turned into the historic house we’re familiar with by wealthy Yorkshireman Frank Green in the late 1800s. It is now cared for by the National Trust.
Volunteers at Treasurer’s House are expected to take on a number of roles, from being the first contact point for visitors, leading tours around the house, to helping out in the National Trust shop located around the corner.
Rebecca Allott, volunteer manager, said: “We’re looking for friendly people with great communications skills who are happy to engage with visitors of all ages and nationalities. The great thing about volunteering is that no prior experience is needed, you don’t have to be an expert, just bring your enthusiasm.
“It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and help to bring history to life for visitors to York.”
If volunteering at Treasurer’s House sounds like it could be for you, find out more at the National Trust website or by calling 01904 624247.
