‘This isn’t real!’ Holly the cat is reunited with her owners after 12 YEARS
Meet Holly – who has been missing from home for 12 long years!
Her owner Catherine Adamson was living in Selby at the time and Holly was inseparable from her four-year-old daughter. They then moved to Leeds
But one day the cat – who was also four – disappeared and it was thought she would never be seen again.
That was until she appeared at a vets Tower Veterinary Group in York and they scanned the chip which had Catherine’s details on it.
A lot has changed over the years but Holly still seemed to recognise Catherine when they met up again.
Catherine told David Dunning on YorkMix Radio: “I was working when I got a call on my phone and I let it go to message.
“When I picked it up I had to listen to it three times as it addressed me by my old married name and told me that my cat that I hadn’t seen for 12 years had been found and was at the vets!”
Catherine says it was a very emotional moment and she cried.
Holly has some minor injuries but appears to be OK. Catherine has no idea where she has been all this time or how she managed to get from Leeds to York.
“I thought, this isn’t real,” she said. “When it sank in I was very emotional. This cat had been my daughter’s best friend up until the age of 4.”
So how is Holly settling in then? Well Catherine says she is very friendly with her but not so keen on the other cats or her current husband.
