The police helicopter joined a major search in York for a vulnerable missing person this evening (Friday).
North Yorkshire Police launched the search at 5.05pm, looking for a high risk missing person with dementia.
As well as the police on the ground and in the air, firefighters on land and in the fire boat joined the search.
So too did the volunteers from York Rescue Boat.
A spokesperson for York Rescue Boat said: “We’re pleased to say the missing person has now been located safe and well.
“Fifteen of our volunteers responded from home or work to assist with the search.
“Call outs like this wouldn’t be possible without the great support we receive from our community.”
The rescue boat relies on donations – here’s how to help.
