Colour & Light
Colour & Light will once again transform the iconic South Transept of York Minster! This year’s free event will celebrate the beauty of York’s wildlife, creating an unforgettable event for all ages, and highlighting the city’s heritage and creativity. It will run nightly from 6pm to 9pm, with projections on a 10-minute loop.

Jorvik Viking Festival
The Vikings are back this February for the JORVIK Viking Festival! From Monday, the 17th of February to Sunday, the 23rd, York will be taken over by Viking warriors. This world renowned festival features living history encampments, workshops, tours, traditional crafts, feasts, family events, evening entertainment and dramatic combat performances. Dark Skies Festival 10th Anniversary

February half term: Magic of Trees
Grab a trail sheet and become a tree detective on the Magic of Trees trail. As you explore the gardens, look out for the 8 leaf symbols on the trees, gather the scores and record your findings on the Top Tree Trumps chart. Don’t miss the Wilderness Play Area and keep your tree detective hat on as you explore the Hall, spotting images of trees and wooden objects.

February Half-Term Fun with NER Autocar
Blow off the cobwebs and join us for steam rides from Whitby to Grosmont and Goathland this February half-term. Families can also download our FREE February Fun Kid’s Kit, full of information and activities to do around Grosmont and Goathland Stations, and on our trains.
As part of our celebrations for the start of Railway 200 we are excited to welcome the beautifully restored diesel-powered North Eastern Railway Electric Autocar No. 3170 courtesy of the NER 1903 Electric Autocar Trust. You can journey on the unique NER Autocar to and from Grosmont and Goathland stations.
