Thieves broke into a York restaurant and attempted to crack the safe.
And they were caught on camera as they did so.
Now police have released CCTV images of the raid as part of an appeal for witnesses and information.
The incident took place at 4.50am on Thursday, 12 October.
Three men arrived at the unnamed premises, on the A64 eastbound from York, in a stolen van.
Two of the men then broke into the restaurant and attempted to get the safe.
The silver Ford Transit van they used was stolen from Tockwith earlier that morning. The registration begins with YF65.
Police have released descriptions of two of the men. The first was
- white
- and wore grey tracksuit bottoms
- black trainers
- a black coat with a hood
- and bright red gloves.
The second was wearing
- dark navy blue tracksuit bottoms
- with white stripes down the right leg
- a grey hoodie with the hood up
- and black gloves.
