Thieves have targeted a York funeral directors and stolen the personal possessions of people who have died.
The burglary happened at Rowley & Sons on Lawrence Street between 8.30pm on Wednesday, May 18 and 9.45am on Thursday, May 20.
Thieves sneaked into the building and stole a projector and a safe.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said:
Sadly, the safe contained personal possessions, such as jewellery, of people who have died.
We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officers are asking for witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch with them.
