Three thieves were chased out of a York village by angry locals.
Now police have issued description of the trio in the hope they will be brought to justice.
It all began on Thursday 1 February, when the three suspects went to a home on Station Road, Upper Poppleton, close to the railway crossing, and tried to steal a moped.
They failed to steal the moped, but damaged it while trying.
They returned for a second attempt at around 7.30pm the next day but the moped had been moved.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “They were chased off through the village and towards the A59.
“Officers are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this group in the area around this time to get in touch using the details below.”
All three suspects were described as young males wearing dark clothing, with two of them being around 6ft in height and the third a little shorter.
