Selby Residents’ Festival is underway with lots of special offers and things to do.
The festival runs today and tomorrow (Saturday- Sunday, 5-6 April) and gives residents of Selby, Tadcaster, and Sherburn in Elmet the chance to discover what’s on their doorstep and be a tourist in their own backyard.
There are discounts on everything from shopping to afternoon tea, and experiences at the stunning Selby Abbey.
Details of offers available during the Selby Residents’ Festival are below, and also available at the Heart of Yorkshire website and on the Facebook page.
The festival is now in its fifth year. Andy Mayes from North Yorkshire Council told YorkMix: “The whole idea is to get you, as residents, out and about in the local area, spending money with local businesses.
“Let’s stay local, support local businesses and get out and about and explore what’s in the local area.
“There’s loads of things going on. The offers available include Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens and behind the scenes tours at Selby Abbey.
“There’s lots of food and drink offers in the area as well – different breakfast, lunch, dinner, dinner deals.

“Some shops on the high street are involved as well, so get yourselves out. As I said to somebody, if you’ve got any plans this weekend, cancel them and involve yourself in the residents’ festival!”
Ahead of the festival yesterday, the YorkMix Roadshow went on tour around some of the amazing attractions, shops, cafés and pubs taking part.
