Are you passionate about pottery? Can’t get enough of ceramics?

Well you’re in luck, because the York Ceramics Fair returns this weekend on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September, 10am to 5pm.

Over 40 of the UK’s leading potters and contemporary ceramicists will be showcasing unique hand-crafted pieces.

This will the fair’s third year celebrating all things ceramic and it’s biggest yet, as this year it has moved to a larger venue – the Foss Building (Sports Hall) at York St. John University.

Pots of all shapes and sizes

Top to bottom: Ceramic work by Lara Scobie, Zoe Whiteside and Penny Withers.

Each artist showcasing at the fair was chosen through competitive selection, and visitors can expect to see hundreds of pots of all shapes and sizes.

Visitors will also get the opportunity to chat with the creators, as well as purchase any pieces that catch their eye.

Some of the creators featured will be Beverly based Hannah Billingham and her delicate handmade ‘dotted’ pottery pieces, which have featured on TV programmes such as Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas, and Scottish potter Lara Scobie and her ceramics that create a pop of colour.

If you’re an animal lover you will be sure to like Zoe Whiteside’s ceramic creature sculptures, or if you’re more of a landscape fan Penny Withers’ pottery captures the beauty of the moorland.

With such a versatile art form, there will be something for everyone’s taste.

Entry to the fair is £5 per person, with under 16s going free.
