It’s on with the show at the Grand Opera House.
The York theatre has announced that the performance of Rock Of Ages will go ahead as scheduled tonight (Thursday, 25 April).
Last night’s performance was cancelled after a fire broke out on stage.
The curtains were set alight by an electrical fault, causing smoke damage and burns to the curtains and electrical cabling.
Opera House staff tackled the blaze with fire extinguishers and four fire crews were called out.
This afternoon the Grand Opera House issued a statement saying:
-
We are happy to announce that tonight’s performance of Rock of Ages will go ahead as scheduled. Thank you for your patience in bearing with us.
Customers who had tickets for last night’s cancelled performance will be contacted by our Box Office/Ticketing Centre regarding re-scheduling for another Rock Of Ages performance or refunds.
