We only have a few hours to get him over the line!
Spook master supreme Dorian Deathly has stormed the ghost walking world since starting two years ago – and now he’s close to being named VisitBritain’s Tourism Superstar 2022.
Having worked as a tour guide in York for seven years, he lost his job when the pandemic hit.

He began to livestream his walks around the city at night, telling ghost stories onto his Facebook page for free – attracting fans from all over the world.
On the back of that he launched his own real-life tour – The Deathly Dark Tour – in August 2020, which runs four nights a week with up to 50 ghost walkers.
And now he’s up for the VisitEngland Tourism Superstar 2022 award, backed by VisitYork. This celebrates those in the industry who “go the extra mile to ensure tourists have an amazing and unforgettable visitor experience”.
It’s a public vote – and closes at 11.59pm tonight (Tuesday, 22 March) – so you need to vote now!
This morning, Dorian told Ben and Laura on YorkMix Radio: “For the last week or so we were in second place but this week we are first!
“Which is even more insane, we could actually win it which is crazy for a little company like ours, just the two of us.”
He ended by saying: “Thanks for the support and stay spooky.”
Dorian has won a few awards since bursting on to the tourism scene in 2020.
At the 2021 Love York awards he won three gold and two silver awards including lockdown hero for his entertainment during lockdown. He also won the York Virtual Experience and the Going the Extra Mile award.
And last month he won the New Tourism Business of the Year in the VisitYork awards.
He has taken to Twitter saying “We’d absolutely love to bring this home to York so anyone in the city with an audience, please do help us amplify this!”
