That’s magic! North Yorkshire magician wins national award
A North Yorkshire entertainer is celebrating a truly magic result.
Tim Lichfield has been named the Best Magician in the The Wedding Industry Awards 2023.
Tim, from Northallerton, won the regional title in November 2022 at the glamorous event held at The Fed, Gateshead.
And now he’s taken the national award.
Tim, who is also a presenter on YorkMix Radio, said he was thrilled with the result.
“After winning the regional awards in 2021 and 2023, it was an absolute honour to win the national awards and to be recognised within the industry,” he said.
“Following the lockdowns and uncertainty of the wedding industry a couple of years ago, it made all suppliers strive for success and these awards show the dedication and hard work we put into being a small part of someone’s special day.”
Tim first became interested in magic at the age of seven after receiving a Paul Daniels magic book and hasn’t stopped since.
After a long career in radio, Tim Lichfield decided to make magic his profession almost ten years ago and has watched his business grow.
He said: “Magic is my passion. When I entertain at weddings and events, it makes all the hard practice, time and effort worthwhile when I see the look on peoples’ faces!
“Winning this award truly means a lot and gives me the determination to work harder.
“Wedding suppliers and venues were one of the hardest hit industries during the pandemic and many businesses folded under the lack of support; so to see us all grow and succeed really gives you the determination needed.”
The National Awards were held at The Underglobe on London’s South Bank last night (Wednesday).
The Wedding Industry Awards recognises those who have helped couples make their special day run smoothly. Celebrating everything from venues to florists, photographers to the all-important dress; Tim was announced as the winner of “Best Magician” for Yorkshire & the North East.
