It will be hotter than Barbados in York today as the heatwave continues.
Temperatures could hit 32°C this afternoon.
A tropical night may also be on the cards, with temperatures forecast to be at 22°C at 11pm tonight.
A yellow heat health alert remains in effect until 6pm tomorrow (Tuesday, 1 July).
Nationally, it could be one of the hottest June days on record, with 34°C predicted in London.
Since 1960, UK temperatures in June have surpassed 34°C in only three years, with the hottest being 35.6C, recorded on 28 June 1976.
In York, the heat dies off tomorrow (Tuesday), with a top temperature of 23°C. Showers are also forecast for Wednesday and the weekend – and these are the highs for the rest of the week:
