A teenager threatened a police community support office in a frightening daytime confrontation in York.
It happened on Crichton Avenue at 12.30pm on Saturday (7 May) when a young man approached the PCSO brandishing what is believed to be a BB gun.
The suspect, said to be aged between 15 and 17, then set off on his mountain bike towards the Clifton area “while being verbally abusive”.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The PCSO was not injured in this incident, but it is clearly concerning how the suspect behaved.
“Despite the frightening incident the PCSO continued to search for the suspect, but was unable to locate him.”
Police are appealing for the public’s help with their investigation. They are particularly keen to speak to two women in the area at the time who may have witnessed what happened.
The suspect is described as
- male
- aged 15-17
- wearing a light grey tracksuit
- a dark-coloured baseball cap
- and dark sunglasses.
