A teenager has been sexually assaulted in York city centre.
Police are investigating the assault which occurred in the Skeldergate Bridge area of York between 1am and 2am on Saturday (September 17).
The female victim, who is aged in her late teens, is receiving specialist support while enquiries are on-going to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. An area was cordoned off below the bridge on Saturday as part of the investigation.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation. Following questioning, he was released on police bail pending further enquiries.
