A teenager was badly hurt after being attacked in a city centre bar.
The violent assault took place in the Vodka Revolution Bar on Coney Street in the early hours of Monday (20 January).
At around 1.15am, a 19-year-old man was punched and kicked whilst on the floor, just outside the toilets inside the bar.
A local man aged 20 has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “It is believed there will have been a number of witnesses to this violent assault, which left the victim with substantial facial injuries requiring hospital treatment.”
