Teenager left with deep cuts to his face after riverside attack in York
A teenager suffered injuries to his face and head after an attack in York at the weekend.
It happened in a field near Millennium Bridge at around 9pm on Saturday (1 May).
Two teenage victims were approached by a youth. One was assaulted, causing deep lacerations to his face, and the second had his phone stolen.
The injured teenager was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault, wounding with intent and robbery. He has been released on bail pending further investigation.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident but has yet to come forward.
