The young driver of a car involved in a crash on the York outer ring road was airlifted to hospital.
Emergency services were called at 7.44pm on Tuesday night (16 December) adto the accident on the A1237 near its junction with the A59 roundabout.
It invoved a collision between a Vauxhall Corse and a Fiat Panda.
The 17 year old male driver of the Corsa was cut free from the car by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment.
He was taken to hospital by air ambulance suffering from leg, pelvic and arm injuries.
A further four casualties were treated by paramedics.
