Back in January of this year, the RSPB hosted their annual Big Garden Birdwatch and Big Schools’ Birdwatch. To honour this, and to get children back to nature, WorkwithSchools did a little something of their own.
They gave local schools the opportunity to win a custom-made bird table for their school grounds. All they had to do to enter was follow a few steps on Twitter. Looks like it wasn’t just the birds who were tweeting this year!
After multiple entries and lots of competition, Lakeside Primary Academy were randomly selected as our winners. Their bird table was made and installed in the school garden, ready for the Spring.
Pictured above, you can see Maisie and Archie, pupils at Lakeside Primary, whose mum helped the school win by getting active on Twitter. Those smiles are understandable; the bird table is fabulous and will make a brilliant addition to the school’s outdoor space, welcoming all kinds of birds for the children to watch.
