Become part of a jury panel and take part in a live murder trial – innocent or guilty? You decide…
Described as a ‘social experiment’, this immersive live event is a recreated murder trial where audience members form the jury and deliver a verdict on the accused. Its aim is to deliver an in-depth understanding of the British justice system.
The Murder Trial Live is coming to York from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 September 2024.
The pitch at Nestle Rowntree RUFC will be transformed into an inflatable Crown Court Arena – complete with a fully licensed bar, street food vendors, and a courtroom with tables of jurors.
During the show there will be evidence to examine, case materials to peruse, and witness statements to consider as the prosecution and defence present their case. At the end of the show, each team of jurors will present their verdict.
Though the murder being presented is fictional, the tour’s live show is based on the real life events of convicted serial killers Jeffrey Dahmer and Dennis Nilson.
The York events will form part of a nationwide tour of over 150 live shows, and the national result of all the events will be released at the end of the tour.
The company was first seen on Dragons’ Den in 2018, where dragons Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones both invested in the business – which started as an Operating Theatre Live experience for schools, colleges and universities.
After a change in management, The Murder Trial Live experience was acquired by Showtour Events.
Tickets for the event start from £58.50. To find out more and to book your tickets, visit The Murder Trial Live website.
