Love a loose leaf blend? Then this is the shop of your dreams.
The tea company Bird & Blend opened a shop in York this week, at 74 Low Petergate. It was previously home to Crew Clothing, which closed last year.
The popular company specialises in all things whole leaf tea, and is known for creating their own unique blends using high quality ingredients including herbs, flowers, fruits, caramel, and chocolate.
Some of their blends include the seasonal ‘Spiced Pumpkin Pie’ which is an autumnal spiced pumpkin chai, the nostalgic ‘Jelly & Ice Cream’ with flavours of berry and vanilla, and an almond and cinnamon tea ‘Nuts About You’.
Bird & Blend have over 100 flavourful tea blends to choose from.
The independent tea company was founded by Krisi Smith and Mike Turner over ten years ago. What started as packing tea in their bedroom and attending markets has turned into multiple shop locations across the UK as well as an international online store.
Mike said: “Customer experience is at the heart of everything we do. Alongside the fast growth of the digital side of our business, we’re proudly continuing to invest in local high streets too.
“We see our stores as not just retail spaces, but as community hubs where customers can come to make connections with one another and our team, and enjoy interacting with our teas. For us, there will always be a place for magical in-person experiences and we’re delighted to be arriving in York.”
Although the shop is already trading, its official opening day is Friday (3 November).
On that day, , the first 50 customers will receive an exclusive York tote bag and lots of free tea.
As well as tea, it also offers tea-themed gifts such as tea pots, tea infusers, tea tins, tote bags, and tea gift sets.
One thing that would be perfect for the upcoming festive season is the Bird & Blend tea advent calendar, which features 24 different flavour tea blends and variations of green tea to fruit tea to oolong tea.
