An eco-conscious cafe in York will be hosting a unique pop-up menu evening this weekend.
Remedy, on Fossgate, will be welcoming the fine-dining team Fjør into their kitchen – who will be serving up a zero waste, plant based, eight course tasting menu to tantalise the tastebuds.
The pop-up tasting menu evening will take place on Sunday 7 July.
The menu, which focuses on sustainability and zero food waste, will highlight pickling, fermentation and other preservation techniques.
It will feature dishes such as Focaccia with wild garlic butter, ‘scallop’ with Jersey royal and leek, and Tiramisu.
“With Fjør, the idea is based around zero waste, not just food, and finding ways to use that waste,” said Fjør founder, John Pollock.
The team at Remedy will be providing the cocktails to be served alongside the tasty treats, as well as a matching wine float that will be available to purchase on the evening.
“It’s our first collab with a fellow plant conscious business and we can’t wait,” said Chris Wilkinson at Remedy. “The dishes are ones of true refinement born of considered planning and a knowledge of British foraged and grown organics – you don’t want to miss it!”
There will be two sittings to choose from, either at 5:30pm or 7:45pm. The tasting experience will last approximately two hours, and cost £55 per person.
Tickets to the tasting event can be purchased via Eventbrite.
Future Fjør pop-ups are “in the pipeline,” said John. “I’d love to do a few pop ups and then see what there may be for a more permanent place.”
