Police are investigating an attempted raid on a York supermarket.
A window has been smashed at Sainsbury’s Local, on Bootham.
There’s a gaping hole left in the side of the building next to the cash point, and items inside disturbed.

Officers are at the scene and the area is currently cordoned off with cones and tape. The store is shut.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A man has been arrested after we responded immediately to a suspected burglary in progress early this morning in York city centre.
“Shortly after 4.30am, North Yorkshire Police received a call from an alarm monitoring company.
“Our officers attended Bootham in York straight away, where they noticed two suspects cycling away from the Sainsbury’s store.
“One man was caught, and arrested – the other made off.”
