Issued by City of York Council
A partnership between City of York Council, British Cycling and Sky has brought a fun packed summer programme of Sky Ride Local guided bike rides to the streets of York.
The Sky Ride Local bike rides start on August 10 and are taking place most weekends until the end of September. The rides are a great opportunity to get the family together and explore York on two wheels.
Cllr Sonja Crisp, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism, said: “Sky Ride Local rides are a great way for people who might have been inspired by the Tour de France to get involved with cycling in York. They are also a great way to see some of the sights that York has to offer whilst keeping fit at the same time.”
Goodies are up for grabs for children aged 12 and under. Those who register and take part in a ride will get a Sky Ride Local watch and those who take part in three rides will get a backpack.
All rides are organised and guided by British Cycling trained Ride Leaders, who are on hand to offer encouragement and support throughout. There are rides for all ages with different levels available from easygoing to more challenging rides.
