Services on the Leeds – Carlisle / Morecambe line are currently being disrupted due to severe weather issues blocking the railway in North Yorkshire.
There’s flooding between Hellifield and Kirkby Stephen.
A tree is on the line between Hellifield and Giggleswick / Settle too.
Due to a lack of availability and poor road conditions caused by the severe weather, there is currently no replacement road transport able to run on this line.
Damage to the overhead electric wires between Leeds and Wakefield Westgate means that all lines are currently blocked (picture above)
As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled. PAssengers are being routed via York which is adding to numbers on the main line to and from London.
Check before you travel as there is a lot on the trains across the uk.
