A stolen Land Rover was driven on the wrong side of the road while being pursued by police.
The Land Rover Defender was stolen from the Cliffe area of Selby at 12.30pm yesterday (Tuesday).
Roads policing officers spotted it travelling southbound on the A19 towards the M62.
When officers activated the blue lights, the Land Rover made off at speed.
During the chase, the car made several dangerous overtakes and drove onto the wrong side of the road.
It was abandoned near Whitley, with the suspects fleeing into field.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “An area search commenced which led us to a person who matched the description of the occupant on a train station platform.
“The man in his 20s who is from the Doncaster area was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for the police, dangerous driving, and theft of a motor vehicle.
“He was later interviewed and released under investigation.”
