York is to host a protest rally against the Covid-19 measures tomorrow (Saturday).

The North Unites demo is due to meet outside York Minster at 1pm. YorkMix understands more police are being drafted in to York in preparation.

Organisers say on social media: “We need to wake up the masses to this plandemic.

“We need to educate and inform them of the real agenda.

“We need to educate small businesses how to stay open through future lockdowns under common law.

“it’s time to take back our country from the tyrants.”

Among the speakers is set to be Gareth Icke, son of David Icke, the former footballer who became a conspiracy theorist after visiting a psychic in 1990.

One of Gareth’s speeches at a previous anti-lockdown rally has been streamed millions of times on Facebook.

In it he questioned whether the hunt for a vaccine was a “Trojan horse” that had been prepared before the pandemic.

One of those supporting the protest, Liam Hunt from York, got in touch to say: “Primarily it is a ‘pro choice freedom march’ in response to the government using discriminatory tactics and coercion to increase covid vaccine uptake.

“I would also like to point out that the group is a mixture of those who chose to have the vaccine and those who chose not to.

“We feel that everyone has/should have the freedom to decide which medical treatments they have without fear of being penalised or stigmatised in the form of divisive vaccine passports.

“Recently the definition of ‘anti vaxxer’ was changed to mean; someone who opposes mandatory vaccine regulations.

“York has many small businesses that have been disproportionately affected and targeted by government overreach in comparison to larger companies.

“The vaccine passports would force these local businesses into a moral dilemma regarding the law and they would be financially worse off.”

Organisers have also put a call out for ‘white walkers’: people to walk silently in front of the demo dressed in white boiler suits holding placards.

They add: “This will be a peaceful event. Violent or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.”
