This week sees the launch of the new #DiscoverHambleton social media feeds, together with the hashtag, aimed at offering a comprehensive guide to what’s going on in places like Thirsk, Easingwold, Bedale and Northallerton.

#DiscoverHambleton is a digital communications campaign which consists of a Facebook and Twitter feed, which has been populated with information on Hambleton events, visitor attractions, café & restaurants, ideas for days out and much more.

  • Discover Hambleton Twitter

The feeds will act as a one-stop shop for residents, visitors and tourists who want to find out more about what the beautiful district has to offer, with local leisure and tourism businesses urged to provide information for the feeds.

The launch event which was held at the World of James Herriot in Thirsk and offered an opportunity for representatives from the Hambleton tourism sector to see how this new digital promotion will support them while recovering from the Covid crisis.

Leader of Hambleton District Council, Councillor Mark Robson said: “As we move to step three on the Government’s roadmap to recovery, the #DiscoverHambleton concept is both perfect timing and great news.

“#DiscoverHambleton is set to be a really useful source of information for everything that’s going on across Hambleton, meaning residents or visitors can check the feeds for ideas and inspiration when planning a day out.

“My hope is people follow the feeds, and it encourages them to visit our market towns and surrounding countryside for a day out or to enjoy a staycation.

“After such a challenging year for businesses involved in leisure and tourism, my hope is this new online presence offers much needed practical support in encouraging people to get out and about in our district and enjoy what’s on offer.”
