The latest cold snap has brought a sprinkling of snow to York – but some disruption in North Yorkshire.
A yellow weather warning is in place for the region, and much of the north of England, for snow and ice until Wednesday.
In York, there’s little snow and no major problems reported on the main roads on Monday morning.
Side roads may be more tricky though, and the city walls are closed
In North Yorkshire, Reliance Buses have suspended service 31X: “Due to bad snow around Ampleforth and Helmsley, we’re unable to operate service 31X between Easingwold and Kirkbymoorside until further notice. 31X will operate between Easingwold & York only. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
In East Yorkshire, heavy snow on Ferriby Hill means buses are being diverted.
A number of flood warnings remain in place in York and North Yorkshire.
The River Ouse in York peaked at 3.9m last night and is predicted to fall to 3.23m by 5am tomorrow (Tuesday).
