There was no snow in York by lunchtime today (Thursday). But the wintry conditions could still bite – as weather warnings have now been extended across the weekend.
The Met Office has issued an updated yellow weather warning for snow and ice affecting York and most of North Yorkshire.
This new warning comes on top of the amber and yellow warnings running today and tomorrow.
It runs from 3pm on Saturday, 11 March to 6am on Sunday. “Further snowfall has the potential to cause disruption Saturday evening into Sunday,” the Met Office states.
There is some snow in the Yorkshire Dales and Wolds, but not enough to cause travel disruption as at 1.30pm today.
