Fire crews from Easingwold and Acomb responded to reports of a small explosion in the early hours of this morning, but the cause is so far unknown.
The incident took place at 12:34 am today (Saturday) inside the kitchen of a static caravan, on Station Road in Tollerton, north of York. The caravan was also reported to have been smoking.
Upon arrival, firefighters conducted an investigation using a thermal imaging camera, but found no signs of fire or smoke damage.
A gas detector was also used to check a strange smell coming from behind the integrated fridge, but no positive readings were found.
Firefighters advised to the occupants to keep all utilities isolated and to stay out of the caravan until a specialist engineer arrives to investigate further.
