“We look forward to experiencing the buzz they will inevitably bring to our fantastic new office.”
Steve Brown, managing director at Make It York, also welcomed the club:
We are delighted to be working with Hiscox to provide more of the city’s start-ups and entrepreneurs with access to the facilities and support they need to help them grow.

The launch of the Hiscox Business Club comes shortly after the official opening of the landmark office on Peasholme Green in York.
A striking addition to the Hungate area of the city, it represents a £19 million investment and employs 230 people so far.
Alan Millard said:
It is an architecturally beautiful yet practical building and, we hope, a fantastic addition to the city.
The Hiscox Building in York is a multi-function office, housing everything from underwriting, claims, customer services, IT, HR and other operational roles as well as the company’s customer experience centre for the North.
In time it will become Hiscox’s biggest British office outside London and employ up to 500 people.
