Two positive cases of Covid-19 at Park Grove Primary Academy were confirmed today (Saturday).
The results, the first at the school, mean more than 70 staff and pupils have to self-isolate.
In two Reception classes, one member of staff and 40 children are affected and in another case higher up the school, five staff and 31 children in Year 4 will also have to stay at home.
A letter was sent to parents and carers.
In it, Gail Brown, chief executive and executive headteacher of Ebor Academy Trust, said: “We have risk assessed and discussed the situation with public health officials and together we are satisfied any risk to other pupils has been minimised to a satisfactory level.”
The children and staff concerned will be welcomed back after the half-term break, on 2 November, providing they are well.
It is the first known case at Park Grove, which is part of Ebor Academy Trust.
Other schools in the trust affected this week include Hob Moor Primary yesterday and Haxby Road and Robert Wilkinson earlier in the week.
